After God of War Ragnarok, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the next big upcoming PlayStation game that we know of. Announced last year with a 2023 launch window, updates on the game have been scant since then, though it seems that could change soon.
Known insider Millie Amand recently took to Twitter and claimed in an update that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s development is “exceeding expectations for Marvel higher-ups”, with a Marvel employee praising the game’s “striking fluidity” and “visual punch”. Allegedly, the game looks so good that another employee thought they were watching a cutscene.
Interestingly, Amand also says that gameplay for the superhero sequel will be debuted “soon”.
Of course, given Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s 2023 launch window, one would imagine that more updates on the game will be arriving in the coming months, if Sony does indeed plan on not delaying the game. Recent reports have claimed that a PlayStation Showcase is set sometime this month, where the game would presumably be likely to show up. Of course, the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase is also happening on September 9, which might also be worth keeping an eye on.
