Insomniac Games took everyone by surprise with their Marvel’s Wolverine announcement at the PlayStation Showcase, and while the general reception has been widely positive, a few questions have popped up here and there. For instance, though Insomniac has made on M rated games like Sunset Overdrive and the Resistance trilogy in the past, the studio generally tends to make games that appeal to a broader spectrum, while there’s also the possibility that Marvel itself may not have wanted a Wolverine game that can’t be played by younger players.
Creative director Brian Horton, however, has moved quickly to clear away any doubts. Responding to a question on Twitter, Horton confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will have a “mature tone”- which, of course, would be the right choice for that character. Meanwhile, Horton also confirmed that the game will be “full size”, unlike Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (which he also directed)- not that there was ever any doubt about that.
Marvel’s Wolverine is in the works for PS5, but Insomniac says it’s in “very early” development right now, so don’t expect to see more of the game any time soon.
