Mass Effect 3 dev diary talks about game’s writing

The new episode of BioWare Pulse is here, and it talks about Mass Effect 3’s writing. Series lead writer Marc Walters discusses the personal aspect of the story, and how it’s very character driven rather than just being a mindless war story.

“Overall, it’s looking like it’s going to end up being bigger than any of the games in the Mass Effect series, but also, I think, the emotion, the depth of writing that we have in there, has also gone up another level,” he says.

“When a videogame can make you feel something, you know as long as it’s also fun and still entertainment then, well, I think we’ve done our jobs.”

The video also promises something “exciting” coming up for all Mass Effect 3 fans during CES- possibly a new video or gameplay footage.

Mass Effect 3 releases on March 6 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and honestly, we couldn’t be more excited. Stay tuned for more coverage.
