BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 is longer than Mass Effect 2.
“It’s longer than Mass Effect 2,” Muzyka told IGN when asked how long it had taken him to finish the game.
“I’m playing through it again at home right now and I’m at like the sixty percent mark,” Zeschuk interjected, “and it’s definitely over the amount of time I played Mass Effect 2 but I think it’s a good range.”
That’s definitely good news. Seeing as Mass Effect 2 was about 30 hours long, ME3 definitely seems to have the longevity that an RPG should have. Add to that the fact that it also has a co-op mode, and we definitely have at least 50-60 hours of gameplay on our hands.
We recently posted hands-on impressions article for Mass Effect 3’s demo’s single player component. You can read it here. We will be posting our impressions of the co-op soon.
Mass Effect 3 releases for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on March 6 in North America and March 9 in Europe.
