As you’re probably already aware, earlier this month a number of writers from within the games industry got to sit down and play Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in a closed doors event hosted by Konami. One such attendee was Matthew Castle of OXM. While there, he played through a 7 hour session of the game and in that time assisted “rebel militia” by “blowing up Soviet vehicles on route to suppress their activities.”
The Phantom Pain will feature a large region to play in with Matthew stating that this game is a,”really good example of open world stealth.” He also makes a mention of bonus objectives in mid-mission, such as “free a political prisoner being transported, or ambush an arms truck for rocket launcher.”
Rather than stealing a truck for a means of transport, Castle decided it was best to stick with his armored horse. Saying, “Decide to stick to trusty D-Horse for future runs. Have upgraded its armour so now wears a riot shield on its face. Hardcore.” This essentially means that players can upgrade horse’s abilities and armor in the game.
As word continues to spill out, the game just seems as though it’s going to be an instant hit, wouldn’t you agree? Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain launches 1st September on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. The Steam version will launch on September 15th, 2015.
