Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Gets 40 Minute Gameplay Demo

Take an extended look at stealth gameplay from the next MGS.

IGN had a chance to spend 40 minutes with Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, showing off the length and breadth of the open world gameplay and stealth mechanics. Check it out below.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will continue where Ground Zeroes left off. Big Boss has returned to exact revenge and he’s much different from before, sporting a prosthetic arm and a demonic horn on his head. Thus far, Kojima Productions has already revealed that Les Enfants Terribles aka Solid and Liquid Snake will be in the game along with a Metal Gear or two. That’s not including some fairly graphic scenes of blood and gore to depict the horrors of war.

Releasing on September 1st for Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will likely be director Hideo Kojima’s last game with Konami. Will you be picking it up and what are your thoughts on the gameplay footage below? Let us know in the comments.
