Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain: Kojima Is Still In Charge, Development In Crunch Period

Nope, it's still not done.

Following the kerfuffle that so rocked the world of horror fans following the cancellation of Silent Hills by Konami, there were fears that this would bode ill for the future of Metal Gear Solid V and Hideo Kojima’s involvement with the project. Their fears are understandable given Konami’s mishandling of the important franchise.

Some light was recently shone on the matter when Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi, the Senior Producer at Konami Computer Entertainment Japan took to Twitter to say that Hideo Kojima is still in charge of Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain and that he is currently hands on with the project and his team, working hard on it. He finished up by saying that there’s not long to go now.

He also stressed that the developers and other staff are all putting in extra hours to get the game through its crunch period of development. In a picture of his hand on a PS4 controller he said, “I’ve been holding this during Golden Week(Japanese holiday week) more than my wife’s hand. Forgive me. It’s crunch.”

Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is due this September for the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
