Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain: New Screen Shows Snake Undergoing Treatment In Helicopter

Snake Eater-esque healing perhaps?

Hideo Kojima is once again using his personal Twitter feed to stir up more hype and speculation for the hugely anticipated open world stealth action game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Unlike his other tweets that contained images, this one has been cropped down to put an emphasis on Snake, but it also cleverly hints at an upcoming game mechanic that we haven’t seen in action since 2004’s Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater, real time healing.

The tweet was accompanied by the simple words, “I’m exhausted” and features an image of Snake onboard the Helicopter. What’s interesting about this image is that it shows Snake hooked up to an IV Drip. The strange part however, is that it’s hooked up to his prosthetic arm. So what can we draw from this? Nothing solid, just more speculation really.

The fluids themselves are in a dark bag, kind of green in colour. Given that blood bags are traditionally clear, we can see that it’s not a blood transfusion. Perhaps it’s a lubricant for the arm, perhaps it’s a sort of fuel that lets the arm perform feats of strength not normally possible. Who knows? Not me.

Get your speculation goggles on everybody.
