It’s been exactly a month since Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain launched and it seems that the PC version did pretty well. If you remember, the PC version was supposed to launch on September 15th, two weeks after the console launch but Konami bought the launch to coincide with the console versions. This seems to have worked wonders as according to the unofficial Steam sales tracker SteamSpy, the game has already sold close to 700,000 copies.
We previously reported that Konami had already shipped 3 million copies of The Phantom Pain in the first week. Those were most likely the console versions so it seems The Phantom Pain will likely sell around 6-7 million units in its first year which will hopefully recoup Konami’s investment and fund another Metal Gear game. On a side note, The Phantom Pain’s competitor Mad Max also did quite well with 363,606 copies sold off.
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain received superb 10/10 by us making it only the second game besides The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to receive GamingBolt’s highest recommendation in 2015.
