Metro: Last Light Sold More Than Metro 2033’s Lifetime Sales in One Week

PC version alone sold more than three times the first game's sales in opening week.

4A Studios is suitably pumped over the critical and commercial success that Metro: Last Light has received, which is amazing considering the deplorable conditions the Ukrainian studio was working in. Deep Silver announced that the game had outsold its predecessor – in fact, first week sales in the US are higher than the entire lifetime sales for Metro: 2033.

Within the same opening week period, for PC alone, Metro: Last Light managed to sell more than three times the amount of Metro 2033.

Deep Silver international commercial director Menno van der Bil stated that, “Metro: Last Light is Deep Silver’s most critically acclaimed game to date.

“We are delighted with the deserved critical and commercial success the game has achieved, and hope that this success represents a statement of intent for future quality titles from Deep Silver. We would like to thank 4A Games for their talent, passion and commitment in helping us reach this milestone.”
