Microsoft Flight Simulator brought Microsoft’s beloved franchise back from the dead with its PC launch last year, and turned out to be way better than anyone could have expected. Earlier this year, it followed that up with a console launch, which, too, was unsurprisingly excellent. Soon, it’s going to get another release.
Microsoft has announced Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the Year Edition. It will include the base game and all the updates that have been released for it since its launch last year, along with plenty of new content for players to dive into. This will include 5 new aircraft (Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet, VoloCity, Pilatus PC-6 Porter, CubCrafters NX Cub, and Aviat Pitts Special S1S), and eight new airports (Leipzig/Halle Airport, Allgäu Airport Memmingen, and Kassel Airport in Germany; Lugano Airport, Zurich Airport, and Luzern-Beromunster Airport in Switzerland; and Patrick Space Force Base and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in the United States).
There will also be new Discovery Flight missions across six locations (Helsinki, Freiburg im Breisgau, Mecca, Monument Valley, Singapore, and Mount Cook), a total of fourteen new tutorials, several new features (ncluding an updated weather system, early access to DX12, and a dev mode replay system), and new photogrammetry cities (including Helsinki (Finland), Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany), Brighton, Derby, Eastbourne, Newcastle, and Nottingham (UK), and Utrecht (Netherlands)).
Meanwhile, anyone who already has Microsoft Flight Simulator on PC or on Xbox Series X/S will be able to upgrade to the GOTY Edition for free.
Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the Year Edition launches on November 18.
