Microsoft Planning to Bring Xbox Game Pass to PC

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella feels it will be a "big element" to strengthening the community.

In a conference call following its quarterly earnings report, Microsoft talked about plans to bring Xbox Game Pass to PC. CEO Satya Nadella talked stated, “Bringing Game Pass to even the PC is going to be a big element of [increasing the strength of our gaming community].” When Game Pass could actually arrive for PC players is still up in the air.

Even then, the possibilities are fairly exciting. PC players could theoretically use Game Pass at this time, taking advantage of titles with Xbox Play Anywhere support. This allows for playing a Windows 10 version for free if you own the Xbox One version digitally (and vice versa). However, the full extent of the catalogue is still unavailable for PC players.

Xbox Game Pass has been a fairly strong service for Microsoft since it initially launched in June 2017. There were concerns about Xbox One titles being available at launch for the service, especially the impact on individual game sales. Nevertheless, games like State of Decay 2 and Sea of Thieves have been well received on the service.
