Today, Microsoft’s internal development team, LXP (Leap Experience Pioneers) revealed their shiny new website as well as their rather excellent logo. Not only that, they’re also looking for staff and are hiring now, so visit the appropriate links and see what’s up.
Keep in mind though, they’re only hiring “the most talented and most creative people in the world” with the aim of creating “far future experiences, for inventive hardware”. Being an internal Dev group, Leap Experience Pioneer is a relatively unheard of and secret group within the company. Some website material reads, “Leap Experience Pioneers (LXP) are an in-house games developer for Microsoft based in the US.
Although they had been in existence for some years they thought it was the right time to define their identity. Something that all parts of their business could relate to, but more importantly, be inspired by. They considered themselves pioneers (as their name suggests) and wanted to encapsulate the the spirit of fronteering Americans – combining a cowboy with an astronaut with attitude.”
The revealing of LXP comes at a strange time in the life cycle of the Kinect, which they helped develop, given that it has very much been assigned to a back burner role. LXP also released (Unnerving?) team video which you can view here.
