Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Has No Co-op, Takes Place Entirely in Mordor

Aka the most depressing place in Middle Earth.

As if Monolith Productions’ Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor couldn’t be more unappealing, the official Twitter account for the game has revealed that it will be taking place entirely in Mordor. Because, you see, it has to justify its name somehow and what better way then to cast you in the shadow of what is already the darkest place in Middle Earth for hours on end?

And in case you thought of having a friend join in on the fun/suffering with you, then there’s more good news. “Alas, no co-op. Shadow of Mordor is being crafted wholly as a single-player experience.”

On the one hand, we should be happy that Monolith is paying attention to the single-player component, such as that admittedly nifty new Nemesis system. On the other hand, how will we wade through the torment of uninspiration alone?

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor launches this year for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
