Capcom’s newest flagship Monster Hunter released this past Friday for the Switch and is already selling gangbusters. According to the publisher, it’s shipped four million units worldwide thus far. While it didn’t break down digital sales and shipments, this does indicate the huge demand for the title.
As the first Monster Hunter title designed exclusively for the Switch – and utilizing the RE Engine at that – Monster Hunter Rise ventures to Kamura Village. With the dread Rampage on the horizon, it’s up to players to defend the village, going up against old and new monsters like Magnamalo. Though the same weapon types remain, they’ve gained new Silkbind techniques with the addition of the Wirebug, which can also be used for zipping around environments.
Monster Hunter Rise is currently available for Switch but will also be coming to PC in early 2022. In the meantime, its first major update lands next month with Apex Rathalos being added as new monster. This update will also likely add Chameleos along with the game’s true ending so stay tuned for more details.
