Monster Hunter Rise Ships 8 Million Units Worldwide

The recently released PC version has helped drive global shipments. It originally released in March 2021 for the Nintendo Switch.

Though God of War overcame it to top the Steam Best Sellers list on PC last week, Monster Hunter Rise has still been doing extremely well. Capcom has announced eight million units shipped worldwide since launch with the PC release helping to drive the same. As of September 30th 2021, overall sales for the series has passed 78 million units.

In terms of a PC launch though, Monster Hunter Rise hit 114,048 peak concurrent players and is the second biggest Capcom launch for the platform. Monster Hunter World is still ahead by a hefty margin with a peak concurrent total of 334,684 players. But it’s still very good news for the company.

Currently, Capcom is prepping a big expansion for Monster Hunter Rise with Sunbreak. It releases this Summer simultaneously for PC and Nintendo Switch, and adds a new Elder Dragon, new region, new story quests and Master Rank. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay this Spring.
