Capcom’s latest Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds offered quite the haul of new content, especially the introduction of Gogmazios. However, it also contained data relating to a potential Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, one that’s yet to be officially announced.
While methods for culling NPCs and reducing endemic life spawns were reportedly discovered, a Chinese datamining group dug even deeper to discern the Switch 2 version’s presets. It apparently runs at 30 frames per second with DLSS enabled, but that’s not all. While docked, the title’s “Graphics Mode” apparently outputs the game at 1080p with a shadow quality preset seemingly higher than the PC version’s “Very Low” option.
For those wondering what that may look like, Universo Nintendo editor-in-chief “Necro” Felipe shared a video from the group using the PC version. Keep in mind that this isn’t what the final product could look like, but simply a demonstration based on datamined parameters.
Other intriguing discoveries include the arrival of Tempered Gogmazios, which would make for the game’s toughest challenge. As for the Switch 2 version, it’s probably the least surprising move from Capcom, especially given that Monster Hunter Rise first launched on the original Switch, not to mention major titles like Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem getting ports.
When it will be announced is another matter entirely, so stay tuned for updates (especially on the next Nintendo Direct).
