After its recent trailers for the Long Sword and Charge Blade in Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has released a new one focusing on the Hammer. While other weapons have their share of new moves and techniques, the Hammer is still much the same, bonking monsters like there’s no tomorrow. Check it out below.
The Hammer can charge up attacks somewhat similar to the Great Sword, but its Blunt damage makes it exceptionally good at stunning targets. The Hook Slinger is useful for quickly dashing with the weapon, but otherwise, hard-hitting moves like Spinning Meteor are still present. If anything, the armor set and Hammer design are more surprising, especially for those who want to wear plague doctor masks and bonk monsters with a pulsing brain.
Monster Hunter Wilds is out in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. While a new trailer (and potential new monster) debuts at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20th, attendees can also try it out on the show floor from August 21st to 25th.
