Capcom has been releasing individual trailers focused on the many different weapons that you’ll be able to play with in Monster Hunter Wilds, and the two newest trailers to be released focus on two fan favourites in the form of the Long Sword and the Charge Blade.

The former is the weapon of choice for many who prefer swift movements. Additionally, the Long Sword also allows for plenty of combi strikes, as well as the ability to counter incoming blows. There’s also the Spirit Gauge, which you fill up with certain successful attacks, which in turn lets you deal higher damage to monsters.

The Charge Blade, meanwhile, is a versatile weapon that can be used in multiple modes. The Sword mode is the default and allows you to dish out fast attacks with a one-handed sword in one hand and a shield in the other. Charge up enough phials in combat and you’re then able to put them both together for Axe mode, which lets you dish out harder-hitting attacks with your larger, blunt weapon.

Check out both videos below for a glimpse of what the two weapons will look like. Make sure to also check out previous weapon overviews for the Great Sword, the Heavy Bowgun, the Insect Glaive, the Gunlance, and the Hunting Horn

Monster Hunter Wilds launches in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Capcom will showcase a new look at the action RPG at Gamescom Opening Night Live later this month.
