Continuing its showcase of weapon types in Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has a new trailer revealing how the Gunlance works. Combining a heavy shield’s defense with shelling and explosions, the Gunlance offers more mobility and utility than the regular Lance. Check it out below, alongside what seems to be the Ingot Set.
The default shelling and charged shots of the Gunlance remain, as does the Wyrmstake Cannon. However, players can now shift positions with shelling, and it seems you can perfectly block an attack to unleash a devastating counter. With the new Focus Mode, the Wyrmstake Cannon transforms into a drill for digging into enemies.
However, the final combo looks the most exceptional, as the player sticks a Wyrmstake into the monster, quickly detonates it, and then deploys another for good measure.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and it will be playable at Gamescom from August 21st to 25th. A new trailer also debuts at Opening Night Live on August 20th. Check out trailers for the Great Sword, Heavy Bowgun, and Insect Glaive.
