Monster Hunter World Has Sold 92% of Its Initial Stock In Japan

The game has had a strong debut in its home country, even managing to increase console sales for the PS4.

There can be no doubt that Monster Hunter: World has had a very successful release. Media Create has released their analysis of the weekly sales of games in Japan, providing further insight into the strong performance of the game in its home country.

In the first week of its release, the game has sold 92.07% of the total shipment with a total of 1,245,169 units sold in the country. This is much more than the debut performance of other entries in the series.

What is most impressive is that sales of the game has also driven console sales with 266.91% PS4 units sold as compared to the previous week. It has definitely been a great start for Monster Hunter: World and it’s likely that the game will continue to sell well for a while due its multiplayer component. The game is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One and is set to release for PC later this fall.
