Monster Hunter World PC Will Receive Behemoth, New Gear on December 21st

The Final Fantasy collaboration quest finally comes to PC in roughly two weeks.

After months and months of waiting, PC users will finally get to experience one of the most challenging encounters in Monster Hunter World. It’s Final Fantasy’s Behemoth, and he’s coming to the game on December 21st at 12 AM UTC as part of Title Update 5. New gear and weapons will be added to the game as well.

The quest in general offers more than just a simple battle. Players must first hunt down a giant Kulu-Ya-Ku, rescue a Moogle, and then repel Behemoth in the Elder’s Recess. After this, they’re free to take on Behemoth in a dedicated hunt, which awards a new weapon, the Gae Bolg Insect Glaive, and the Drachen armour. Your faithful Palico even receives their own Moogle α.

The Behemoth fight itself is unique in that it requires specific MMO roles like tanking, DPS, and support to successfully manage. Players will have to progress through three phrases and avoid Behemoth’s killer attack, Ecliptic Meteor, to survive. The best part is that once Behemoth arrives, his special assignment will be available indefinitely, so there’s plenty of time to farm him. The update will also contain different bug fixes, so stay tuned for more details.
