Capcom’s Monster Hunter World will be receiving a monstrous expansion in the form of Iceborne next month. For everyone else, however, there will be a large title update on September 4th. In a recent developer diary, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto shared a variety of things that the update will have.
Along with weapon balance changes (you might want to sit down when getting to the Bow nerfs), there will be free Guardian Armor provided to all players without any forging required. It boasts strong defense and can be upgrading, allowing players to transition to Iceborne’s Master Rank without grinding old content. However, if you’re not getting the expansion, this armor set can be used for hunting in High Rank as well.
Other new features include Hunter Helper which rewards Wyverian Prints to players who assist fellow Hunters in Low and High Rank. Other cosmetic items like weapon Pendants and Trophies are also being added for the more fashion-minded. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is out on September 6th for Xbox One and PS4. It releases in January 2020 for Steam.
