Mortal Kombat 11 came out last year to solidify the fighting series as the biggest one in the game with great critical and financial reception, and is still getting support today. It ended trilogy that began with time travel, and we reported all the way back in April of last year that there was plans to go back in the past again in a more literal sense with a remastered collection of the first three titles in the franchise (you can read all about that through here). While the project seemed to be dead, a new rating seems it could have seen a resurrection.
A rating for a Mortal Kombat Kollection Online popped up via the Europe PEGI rating system. The listing says it includes updated art, gameplay and online features to classic titles. It’s not clear if this the same collection that Blind Squirrel Games was working on or not, but it seems to match up with what we know about that project.
The collection was rated for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC, which also matches all the platforms Mortal Kombat 11 released on. It’s been quite some time since we’ve been able to play the older games on modern platforms, so it will be fun to revisit them if this pans out. We’ll keep you updated as more news comes.
