After having announced the game last week, EA and Ghost Games lifted the lid in full on Need for Speed Heat at Gamescom Opening Night Live, coming on-stage with full gameplay debut to show off.
Need for Speed Heat features an open world map for players to explore, where cops are always on the lookout to clamp down on street racers- with cops being more active at night than at day. Your car accumulates damage over time, so you need to make sure to get to safe houses to make some repairs every now and then, or else risk suffering permanent losses.
Completing events and races also nets you with credits, which you use to upgrade and customize your vehicles, which is something the developers have been saying is a major focus in the game this time around. Additionally, there’s also aesthetic customization options for players to dive into. Take a look at the entire thing below.
Need for Speed Heat is out on November 8 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Stay tuned for more coverage from Gamescom. And no, there’s no loot boxes.
