It’s been close to a decade and a half since EA Sports released a new instalment in its acclaimed boxing series Fight Night, but though the wait for a new entry has been interminably long, it looks like it could soon be coming to an end, if a recent leak is to be believed.
@CombatESportsM – a Twitter account focused on delivering updates related to boxing games – recently claimed in a tweet that they had been told by anonymous sources that EA was “planning to announce a Fight Night game this year”. According to the account, boxers such as Jaron Ennis and Raymond Ford are “on board” with the title.
Interestingly, the aforementioned Ford shared the account’s leak in his Instagram story, seemingly confirming its validity.
Rumours of a new Fight Night game first emerged in 2020, when boxing promoter Eddie Hearn said that new instalment in the series was being considered. It was claimed in multiple subsequent leaks that a new Fight Night had entered early development, before being put on pause so developer EA Canada could focus on UFC 5 instead- EA Sports UFC 5 went on to launch in October last year.
