Oculus Rift virtual reality headset smashes Kickstarter goal

Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset which aims to immerse the players in a new world. The project has been Kickstarted and a 250,000 goal which was set was passed easily with 30 days to go. It shows that people are still interested in 3D gaming.

“Oculus Rift is a new virtual reality (VR) headset designed specifically for video games that will change the way you think about gaming forever. With an incredibly wide field of view, high resolution display, and ultra-low latency head tracking, the Rift provides a truly immersive experience that allows you to step inside your favorite game and explore new worlds like never before,” reads the Kickstarter page.

They have mentioned that the reason they are doing this Kickstarter project is to create a lot of dev kits so that they can get more devs working on it.

“We’re here raising money on Kickstarter to build development kits of the Rift, so we can get them into the hands of developers faster.”
