Overwatch 2 Content Roadmap, Competitive 2.0 Changes, and Watchpoint Pack Revealed

Purchase the Watchpoint Pack for $40 to gain access to the June 28th beta, the Premium Battle Pass for Season 1, and Overwatch: Legendary Edition.

Blizzard Entertainment dropped tons of new details for Overwatch 2 in its recent event, from the removal of loot boxes and its new seasonal model to the Junker Queen’s origin story and abilities. It’s launching on October 4th in free-to-play early access, which marks the beginning of Season 1.

As per PlayStation Blog, there will be three new heroes (confirmed to be Sojourn, Junker Queen and an unannounced hero), six new maps, a new game mode (Push) and over 30 new skins along with a Battle pass. The first Mythic skin will also be available. On December 6th, Season 2 kicks off and adds a new Tank hero, a new map, over 30 new skins, new Mythic skin and a new Battle Pass.

2023 will see more new heroes, maps and modes, over 100 new skins, and PvE content. Along with new content, Overwatch 2 also launches with Competitive 2.0, which offers a revamped scoreboard and post-match after-action reports. Skill Ratings won’t update after each match, instead of being assessed after hitting seven wins. Furthermore, there are now Skill Tiers instead of numbers with five sub-tiers ranging from lowest to highest.

The next closed beta for Overwatch 2 starts on June 28th and sign-ups are currently available. However, players can purchase the new Watchpoint Pack for $40 for immediate access to the beta. It also includes two new Legendary skins – Space Raider Soldier 76 and Space Raider Cassidy. You also get the Premium Battle Pass for Season 1, 2000 Overwatch 2 Virtual Currency for levelling the Battle Pass and buying new cosmetics.

Pre-purchasing before October 4th the Watchpoint Pack also provides an exclusive Player Icon. On top of this, you receive Overwatch: Legendary Edition which includes the base game along with five Epic and five Legendary skins. Stay tuned for more details on Overwatch 2 in the coming months.
