Overwatch 2 - Junker Queen

Blizzard Entertainment debuted the origin story for Junker Queen, the newest hero joining the Overwatch 2 roster. More of a music video, it provides a look at her overall rise. There’s a definite Mad Max vibe to it all – check it out below.

Borne out of the creation of the Junkertown map, the Junker Queen is described as “full of attitude.” She’s an aggressive Tank who wields a giant axe, a magnetic gauntlet and shotgun. She also has a smaller blade, “Gracie”, that can inflict Wounds on enemies (for reduced healing) and be thrown. If stuck into a foe when thrown, it can be recalled and drag an opponent towards you.

A commanding shout can also be used to increase the movement speed of nearby teammates. “Rampage” is her Ultimate, creating a whirlwind of metal around her axe as she rushes through enemies, inflicting wounds and healing her. In terms of lore, she looks to take down the older rulers of Junkertown after being thrown out at a young age. You can check that out in her cinematic trailer “Wastelander” below.

Overwatch 2’s next beta begins on June 28th for PC and consoles, and the Junker Queen will be playable. A new map, Rio, is also being made available. The hero shooter launches on October 28th in early access, free-to-play for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch.
