Overwatch 2 PvP Closed Beta Starts on April 26th

PC players can currently opt-in for the beta which includes a brand new hero, Sojourn; four new maps; a new Ping System; and much more.

In a recent developer livestream, Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that Overwatch 2’s closed beta for PvP will begin on April 26th. Sign-ups are currently available here – PC players can opt-in to partake in the upcoming series of tests. Currently, a closed alpha is going on with Blizzard employees and professional players.

Along with improved visuals and sound effects, closed beta players can experience new hero Sojourn, who wields a railgun. Push mode will also be available with two dedicated maps – New Queen Street and Colosseo. Escort and Hybrid are also getting some new maps with Circuit Royal and Midtown. Maps from Overwatch 1 are also stated to be included, though whether these are all of the maps or a select few remains to be seen.

On top of all of this is the new Ping System and reworks for heroes like Sombra, Bastion, Orisa and Doomfist. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks. Overwatch 2 is in development for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
