After months of anticipation, Blizzard Entertainment unveiled its rework for Roadhog in Overwatch 2. The Tank hero has been pretty under-utilized, especially with better options like Reinhardt and Sigma (not to mention the upcoming Mauga). The rework effectively removes the alternate fire on the Scrap Gun and adds a new ability – Pig Pen.
Similar to Junkrat’s trap, it can be deployed in an area to deal 60 damage when activated and 30 damage over three seconds. Enemies are slowed by 40 percent when active and don’t need to be directly on the trap for it to trigger. As for Take a Breather, it’s now on his secondary fire and has a resource meter that requires 12 seconds to refill.
It also has a cooldown of one second, allowing for more strategic use (though damage reduction is now 30 percent while active). Finally, the Scrap Gun combines the primary and alternate fire, with four larger shrapnel projectiles surrounding a pellet spread with each shot. The rework goes live today, so stay tuned for details on further changes in the coming days.
