At BlizzCon 2023, Blizzard Entertainment revealed a new playable character that will be added to Overwatch 2 a little over a month from now. Called Mauga, the new hero looks like a cheerful yet destructive force of nature. Check him out in action in the trailer below.

Mauga will be equipped with two chain guns, which he has named Cha-Cha and Gunny, and will be a Tank hero, and will be added to the game on December 5, alongside the launch of Season 8. Prior to that, however, players will also be able to take him for a test drive as part of a Season 8 sneak peek over the weekend, until November 5.

Beyond Season 8 and the addition of Mauga, Blizzard Entertainment has also revealed its plans for new Overwatch 2 content in 2024, which includes a new map, a new game mode, two new heroes, and more. Read more on that through here.

Overwatch 2 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
