Overwatch 2: Season 4 Update Will Require up to 38 GB Free Space

Live on April 11th, it serves as a "rebase" patch, consolidating current patches into the game to keep install size in check.

Blizzard Entertainment recently revealed all the content in Overwatch 2’s Season 4, from a brand new Support hero in Lifeweaver to numerous cosmetics, quality-of-life changes and limited-time events. However, unlike previous seasons, you’ll need significant free space to install it.

In a separate blog post, the developer has advised players to have “as much as” 38 GB of free space when updating. It’s because this is a “rebase” patch, which consolidates all patches into the base game, ensuring the final size of the game client doesn’t balloon out of control. Alternatively, those without that much space can reinstall the game and still access the update.

Overwatch 2: Season 4 starts on April 11th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. It features a new Premium Battle Pass with the Mythic Galactic Emperor skin for Sigma, the new B.O.B. and Weave limited-time game mode, balance changes, and much more. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
