Overwatch fans take note: The beta for the multiplayer shooter is currently on its last day for the year. As revealed by Blizzard Entertainment, the beta will close on December 10th, 9 AM PST.
In the meantime, Blizzard will be analysing the data obtained during beta testing for further refinement of the game. Since the beta started, more than 900,000 games have been played by the developer’s estimates. More heroes and maps were added over a period of time along with a patch that helped to balance out some abilities slightly. Blizzard has also confirmed that all post-launch content for Overwatch, including new heroes and maps, will be free though a time frame for the release of said content is currently unknown.
The Overwatch beta will return in January 2016, accepting more participants in the process. Pre-ordering the game on PC will net you beta access. Overwatch will also be coming to PS4 and Xbox One when it launches in Q1/Q2 2016.
