With all the titles expected to appear at State of Play, Grinding Gear Games’ Path of Exile 2 is probably the least expected. The action RPG is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S alongside the previously announced PC version. While there’s still no release window following the closed beta’s delay, the developer confirmed that early access will go live simultaneously by the end of 2024 for all platforms.
The PlayStation Blog also notes that the end-game will have over 100 maps, each with boss, which fits with the number previously touted. However, Grinding Gear Games has devoted extensive time and resources to its most challenging bosses in Path of Exile. It’s unknown if the sequel’s number includes end-game bosses, so we’ll need to wait for more details.
Path of Exile 2 will support couch co-op on consoles, cross-progression and cross-platform play. Stay tuned for update, and check out some extensive gameplay of the Ranger here.
