ExileCon is underway, with Grinding Gear Games showcasing the short and long-term future of its free-to-play action RPG Path of Exile. Of course, it also revealed a new gameplay trailer for Path of Exile 2, its follow-up to the current game with a brand new campaign. Check it out below.
Along with showcasing several Ascendancies, including new ones like the Templar, we see several bosses in action. The sequel promises 100 bosses and distinct environments, 600 monsters, 1500 Passives, 240 Active Skills, 700 types of equipment and co-op for six players. Visually, it looks impressive as well.
Interestingly, the developer has also announced that Path of Exile 2 will be a standalone game instead of an update. Cosmetics and stash tabs are shared, but the original plan to have both campaigns share the same endgame has changed. The sequel will now be completely separate with its balance changes, end game and Ascendancies. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
Path of Exile 2 is no longer an expansion to Path of Exile 1
They will be standalone games with separate game balance, systems and future expansions.
Your purchases will still be shared between both games. pic.twitter.com/FUsqOcVyaL
