Path of Exile 2

The first iteration of ExileCon was held this past weekend and Grinding Gear Games took to unveiling its big 4.0.0 mega-expansion for Path of Exile. In short, it’s called Path of Exile 2 and takes place a good two decades after the current game. A beta is planned for “very late 2020” – check out the gameplay preview below.

Though it’s regarded as a sequel, this is essentially a new seven Act campaign that exists on top of the current game. One could start the game normally in the first campaign and work their way up to end-game. Alternatively, they could hop straight into the new campaign and progress to end-game from there.

Path of Exile 2 also contains 19 new Ascendancy classes along with several revamps to the current system, especially Skill-linking. Improvements to the engine have also been made resulting in significantly better visuals on display. And of course, it will be completely free. Stay tuned for more details on this mega-expansion in the coming months.
