Path of Exile: Crucible Adds Forges for Weapon Upgrades, New Unique Items, and More

The free expansion and its Challenge League also add a new end-game activity. It goes live on April 7th for PC and April 12th for consoles.

Grinding Gear Games has finally detailed Path of Exile’s upcoming Crucible expansion ahead of its release on April 7th for PC (April 12th for consoles). During the Crucible Challenge League, players will encounter Crucible Forges through Wraeclast. Channeling it will create molten monsters – the longer the channeling, the stronger the enemies.

Slaying them grants experience in uncovering new Passive Skill Trees on weapons. While you can only receive one skill from each tier, you can sell the weapons for currency or unique items. The end-game for the League is the Forge of the Titans which allows for combining a weapon’s Crucible Passive Tree with another. It results in a random mix of skills, from upgrades to less ideal results.

Other changes coming to the end-game include Atlas Gateways, allowing you to instantly go from the right side of the Atlas Passive Tree to the left. You no longer have to take unwanted paths to get the passives you want, providing even more flexibility. Ten new Unique items, Pathfinder and Saboteur reworks, new Vaal Skills, and more are also being added. Check out the full reveal below for more details.
