Grinding Gear Games recently unveiled its next endgame expansion coming to Path of Exile, Siege of the Atlas, and it’s absolutely massive. Despite holding off the Maven, new Eldritch entities have arrived in the Atlas of Worlds. With Zana going into exile, it’s up to Kirac and his militia to defend the Atlas. Check out the trailer below below.
The new bosses include The Searing Exarch and The Eater of Worlds, touted as “the most powerful beings that Wraeclast has ever seen.” To reach them, you’ll need to explore influenced maps and take down their subordinates, The Black Star and The Infinite Hunger. Regions have been removed from the Atlas and the Watchstones have been replaced with Voidstones that will affect maps equally.
You’ll also receive different objectives in the Atlas from Kirac and gain access to one massive Atlas Passive Tree. It features 600 different skills that can be unlocked by completing different Atlas quests. Each will increase the rewards earned though there will be some risks involved. Along with the new expansion will be the launch of Archnemesis League. It involves discovering petrified monsters and then adding modifiers to them for increased rewards (though the danger is also greater). The next petrified monster will inherit previous modifiers applied which can make for some tough encounters. More than 60 new modifiers for bosses have been added and new ones can be uncovered by combining modifiers in recipes.
Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas and Archnemesis League launch on February 4th for PC and February 9th for consoles.
