Epic Games seems to have really hit it out of the park with their reveal of the Unreal Engine 5. The company’s Unreal Engine has been the biggest and most used one in the industry for years, but it seems everyone and anyone is raving about UE5. Even with the tech demo running on a PS5, even the head of Xbox had to chime in and say he was more than impressed.
On his official Twitter, Phil Spencer commented on the reveal, giving a big tip of the hat to Epic Games for the “incredible” work that has gone into the engine. He says that the various Xbox Game Studios look forward to working with the new engine, and some already working with previous iterations of the engine, such as Ninja Theory.
While the tech demo was shown on a PS5, it’s been confirmed Unreal 5 will support all current and next generation systems, so that includes the Xbox One and upcoming Xbox Series X, as well as PC obviously which Microsoft is now heavily involved in. Definitely going to be an interesting time with a lot of new possibilities.
