PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Files Are Found on PSN Servers

It looks like the release of the PS4 version of the game may be closer than imagined.

We’ve already had some indication for a while now that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the original battle royale sensation before Fortnite stole its lunch, may be coming to the PS4. The game has been console exclusive to Xbox since last year, when it launched first on Xbox One, and its lack of availability on other systems, unlike Fortnite, which is on everything, is arguably one reason it lost ground to the competition.

Well, better late than never, because it seems like the game actually is primed for a release on the PlayStation 4. Users on the PSN Profile Forums have found multiple bits of evidence all strongly confirming the game is going to be launching on the PS4 soon—this includes the game’s icon, as well as additional files, all on the PSN servers. They don’t need to be there, and wouldn’t be there unless the game was actually due for a public launch on the system soon.

My personal speculation is that the game will launch on PS4 next month, about a year after the Xbox One launch, which would also tie in with about a year’s worth of exclusivity for the Xbox One version of the game. If you don’t want to wait that long, it’s already available now on PC and Xbox One, as well as on iOS and Android smartphones in a stripped down form.
