PlayStation 4 “Demand May Well Outstrip Supply”, Sony Shifting Internal Projections

Sony rides high while Microsoft's Xbox One continues to flounder.

Sony’s next generation PlayStation 4 console is riding high these days, topping Amazon pre-orders and painting a better picture with its lack of DRM and restriction on used game sales compared to the Xbox One.

In fact, global PlayStation boss Andrew House recently stated to The Wall Street Journal that “the company is shifting its internal projections for the product after favourable reactions to the company’s presentation Monday”.

He also noted that “demand may well outstrip supply”. Both GameStop and Amazon have expressed similar concerns with the latter telling consumers that it can’t guarantee day one delivery. So if you pre-order your Day One edition and it doesn’t hit your door-stop on Day One, this is why.

But this can be nothing but good news for Sony. Meanwhile, Microsoft’s Xbox One continues to flounder in between lack of information on its Family Policy and supported countries at launch. Other concerns include that of mandatory internet check-ins every 24 hours, an always-on Kinect and restriction on used game sales.
