God of War Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2, and Wolverine Likely Won’t Appear in Upcoming State of Play – Rumour

While Sony hasn't really provided many details on what we can expect to see during its State of Play presentation, reports indicate that it will focus on Japanese developers.

Sony’s recently-announced State of Play presentation is set to focus on Japanese developers, but it doesn’t look like any of the upcoming first party megatons are going to be featured.

Video game journalist Tom Henderson has taken to Twitter to state that first party-developed titles like God of War Ragnarok, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Marvel’s Wolverine will likely not be shown at the State of Play. Rather, those games are slated for another State of Play presentation later on.

Sony itself hasn’t really made a statement regarding what kinds of games we can expect to see during the State of Play, but considering its timing relative to the upcoming Tokyo Games Show, it is quite likely that the platform-owner is going to highlight its Japanese partners.

The company hasn’t really provided details like developers, publishers, or even game titles, but it has stated that the presentation will run for around 20 minutes, and will feature reveals, updates, and gameplay for 10 games.

With Tokyo Game Show set to kick off on September 15, Japanese developers will be looking to show off their games in some capacity at the State of Play presentation. Whether that includes the likes of Resident Evil or the heavily-rumoured PlayStation-exclusive Silent Hill revival remains to be seen.

Titles shown off during the State of Play will be available on PS4, PS5, and PS VR2.
