PS5 Reveal Event Still Planned For Early June, More To Follow In August – Rumour

Possible new details emerge on the rumoured upcoming PS5 events.

There have been plenty of reports in recent days that have suggested that Sony are preparing to pull the trigger (finally) on their next-gen reveals. Reportedly planned for early June, one of their upcoming reveal events is rumoured to be the first place where we’ll hear concrete plans about the PS5. Now, new report by GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb drops more details on Sony’s plans for the coming months.

Grubb, who has previously stated that the PS5 reveal event was planned for June 4, says that the date on which the event will be held is currently shifting, and as a result, it might end up getting delayed. It won’t be too long of a delay, however, with plans to hold the event in early June still firmly in place. The shifting dates, however, may have caused Sony to change some of their plans for what they were going to reveal.

As per the report, they were planning on bringing several first and third party games to said event, but with the exact date on which the event is to be held currently in flux, some of those might end up dropping out as a result.

The report goes on to say that though it’s unclear whether Sony will show off the PS5’s form factor during the June event, they most likely will have done so by August. August, incidentally, will see them broadcasting another State of Play stream – as reported earlier – which will feature a mix of both current- and next-gen games. Meanwhile, Sony will reportedly continue to communicate with fans through social media and their blog, as they have been doing throughout the year until now.

It’s clear that given the current situation, no plans are firmly set in stone, and things could definitely change from now to early June- so keep that in mind. Either way, we’ll keep you updated on any new info that comes our way, so stay tuned.
