With next-gen consoles releasing later this year, all the uncertainty because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the fact that there will be no E3 this year, there’s more than a few factors that are making one question increasingly pertinent by the day- when and how will these consoles be revealed? On the Xbox end of the spectrum, the Xbox Series X is rumoured be revealed at a digital event in May. Meanwhile, rumours have also indicated that a PS5 reveal is also imminent– and now we might have a clearer idea of what that could happen.
Taking to ResetEra, GamesBeat writer Jeff Grub – who also accurately leaked the recent Nintendo Direct – stated that Sony’s PS5 reveal event is currently scheduled for June 4. That seems pretty much in line with what we’ve been hearing about upcoming events for next-gen consoles, and would also have been around E3 time (if E3 were still happening, that is).
The PS5 is scheduled for a launch this Holiday, but there’s a lot that we don’t know about it yet, such as its launch lineup, what the console will look like, or what its price will be. As far as the latter has confirmed, reports suggest that it might land somewhere in the $450-$500 range.
On the software side of things, recently, several potential details on a Horizon: Zero Dawn sequel for the PS5 recently got leaked, so it’s possible we might hear something about that in the coming months.
