Red Dead Online Standalone Version Announced, Out on December 1st

It will retail for $4.99 until February 15th 2021.

Much like Rockstar Games’ upcoming standalone version of Grand Theft Auto Online for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, Red Dead Online will also receive standalone version. Out on December 1st, it will retail for $4.99 on PC, Xbox One and PS4 until February 15th 2021. After this date, it will cost $19.99 so that’s a whopping 75 percent discount for the first 2.5 months of launch.

Players will require 123 GB of installation space along with PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold to play on PS4 and Xbox One respectively. Both versions are also playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S respectively via backwards compatibility. From the outset, players will choose from one of five Specialist Roles, each with their own unique activities while pursuing co-op story quests to avenge Jessica LeClerk’s husband.

Other content includes various Showdown Modes for competitive play and Free Roam missions (with some competitive Free Roam Events thrown in). Daily Challenges, mini-games and a reputation system can also be expected. Those who purchase Red Dead Online separately will also have the option to purchase and unlock Red Dead Redemption 2’s Story Mode. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
