Red Dead Redemption 2 Is A Prequel, Possibly Features Bill Williamson

The newest trailer for Rockstar's sequel contains a wealth of interesting information.

Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 received a brand new trailer today and to say the world is stoked would be an understatement. The trailer showcased a lot of new details and Rockstar itself noted that the story focused on Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang.

That last point is interesting because the Van der Linde gang was effectively taken out in Red Dead Redemption. This indicates that Red Dead Redemption 2 is actually a prequel. We’ve already seen several gameplay features like the ability to rob a train and use a bow and arrow but Rockstar affirmed that there will be online support as well. In fact, it said that, “The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”

Last but not least is the fact that, as a user on Reddit pointed out, at one point in the trailer we get to see someone who resembles Bill Williamson (the beard and hat shape match pretty well). Williamson was one of the main antagonists in Red Dead Redemption and John Marston’s first target in the hunt for his former partners in crime.

While we don’t believe the man standing next to him is Marston, this possibly being a prequel does point to Marston being alive. Red Dead Redemption 2 arrives in Spring 2018 for Xbox One and PS4.
