Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 just released for PC via the Epic Games Store and Rockstar Games Launcher. Despite being praised for its visuals, the port isn’t without its issues – users have reported crashes while starting the game. The developer has since released an update for its launcher which should also apply to the Epic Games Store release.
The “Rockstar Games Launcher failed to initialize” error that occurs at start-up should be fixed. You should also expect the “Rockstar Games Launcher exited unexpectedly” error to also be fixed, along with the pre-load decryption not finishing. Check out the full changelog below. Remember to exit the game and close the launcher before restarting it for the update.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for Xbox One and PS4 as well – you can check out our review of the console version here. The PC version will be hitting Steam in December though a release date has yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
