Everyone is abuzz right now about the recently announced remake of Resident Evil 3. It was one of the worst kept secrets around, since we’d heard rumors of it well beforehand, but now it’s out there and we know when we’ll get our hands on it. But before that, let’s take a minute to savor the success of the game before it, a remake of Resident Evil 2.
According to the press release for the Resident Evil 3 announcement from Capcom, it seems that Resident Evil 2 has now passed 5 million “units in sales” as of December 4th 2019. This actually puts it above the original game’s sale, which stood at 4.6 million. That gives it quite the milestone. You can read the press release notes through here.
Resident Evil 3 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC April 3rd 2020. In the meantime, Resident Evil 2 is available across the same platforms now, so if you hadn’t gotten a chance to jump in, now is as good a time as any. The game also had mysterious achievement added recently, so it’s also possible we may not be fully done, either.
