Resident Evil 2 PC Will Use Denuvo DRM, According To Steam

Following the trend of Capcom games using Denuvo on PC.

Though Denuvo DRM is widely disliked by the PC community, it is a popular anti-piracy measure that is often included in the PC versions of games by various developers and publishers. Capcom has largely included it in its own games as well, with both Monster Hunter World and Mega Man 11 launching with Denuvo last year, and it seems the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 2 will be following that trend as well.

The game’s Steam page mentions that it will make use of Denuvo DRM at launch as an anti-tampering method. That said, it is still completely possible that Capcom will end up removing the same from the game few months after launch- developers often only stick with Denuvo at and around a game’s launch, and often end up removing it a few months down the line- which is something that Capcom itself did with Mega Man 11 as well.

Meanwhile, as we get closer to launch, Resident Evil 2 might be receiving a short demo soon, according to a recent leak. Read more about that through here. The full game itself launches on January 25 for the PS4, Xbox One, and, of course, PC.
